If you are looking to retire your horse in a field board situation but still want hands on care for him, then
Henebry Farm's retirement program is just what you are looking for.
"I looked at retirement farms all over the country, and Henebry Farm is the best I've seen. My
horse is fat, glossy and really happy" :)
~Chante Lamont, owner of Henebry Farm retiree/resident, "Super Pete"
At Henebry Farm, your horse will be turned out in a large, board fenced paddock with no more than
three other horses. He will be monitored daily to make sure he is happy and compatible with his pasture
mates. Our climate is mild and he'll have access to a spacious, clean run in shed which is well ventilated
in summer and warm in winter. We'll change his blankets and sheets according to the weather if you
provide them to us. We'll also apply fly spray daily and change fly masks in warmer months.
Our fields are well maintained so he'll have plenty of grass (some of our retirees even wear grazing
muzzles when the grass is coming in!). He'll be fed quality grain two times per day according to his
individual needs. Even though he'll be fed in the field, he and his pasture mates will have their own feed
buckets and be fed separately, so there will be no fighting over food or other stress during feeding time.
He will have plenty of square baled hay in winter (alfalfa, orchard grass, timothy and oat) and you don't
have to worry about botulism because we do not feed round bales. His feet will be picked on a regular
basis and any cuts, scratches or bites will be medicated free of charge.
He'll be wormed on a regular basis for a small fee. You'll arrange for direct billing with our farrier,
dentist and vet and we'll arrange for his care and other services, as needed. You can rest assured that
he'll be healthy and happy and cared for in the way he deserves.
"I've never seen Fawn so happy and healthy. She absolutely glows with health and clearly loves
being at Henebry. Elizabeth sends me regular updates and I love to come visit and see Fawn
when I'm in the area. I know she's receiving the care she deserves after all the years she gave to
me. I highly recommend Henebry Farm to anyone who wants a quality retirement home for their
horse."
~Lori Sokolsky, owner of Henebry Farm retiree/resident "Fawn"
We'll provide you with frequent updates and photos and we can customize care depending upon your
horse's needs and your desires. He'll enjoy our peaceful setting and you can come visit him at any time.
Best of all, you can rest assured that he'll be enjoying his golden years the way he deserves to!
